Also known as: Aayush Homam, Ayusha Homa
Ayush Homam is a Vedic fire ritual (havan) performed for a child's long life, health and wellbeing — most often on or around the first birthday, and sometimes repeated at later milestones. A priest invokes Ayur Devata and other deities through offerings into the sacred fire while the family and child participate. It is an intimate, blessing-focused ceremony, usually held at home or a small mandir with immediate family and close relatives, and frequently paired with a first-birthday celebration or an Annaprashan. Typical needs are a priest, havan samagri, and light catering for prasad.
