Also known as: Anniversary Blessing, Satyanarayan Pooja
For milestone anniversaries — 25th, 50th, 60th — many South Asian families begin the day with a pooja or blessing at home or at the mandir, thanking the divine for the years together and seeking blessings for those ahead. A Satyanarayan pooja is a common choice, led by a pandit, followed by aarti and prasad. It is an intimate, reflective start to what is often a larger evening celebration, attended by immediate family and close relatives. Key needs are a pandit, puja samagri, and light catering for prasad. Sikh families may mark the occasion with an Akhand Path or Sukhmani Sahib path instead.
